Atty. David J. Correira Awards Law Scholarships to Bridgewater State College and University of Rhode Island Students

Atty. David J. Correira recently awarded four scholarships to area college students planning to attend law school after graduation. Two of the recipients, Kayla Harvey and Jonathan Cowal, are students at Bridgewater State College (Atty. Correira's undergraduate alma mater). The other two students, Amanda Blau and Marissa Montalban, attend the University of Rhode Island (where he received a Masters of Public Administration). The scholarships are to be used by the students for a prepatory course for the Law School Admissions Test (LSAT), a standardized test that must be completed by all applicants to American Bar Association (ABA) approved law schools. All four students have stellar academic records, as well as strong extracurricular and community involvement. When asked about her future plans as an attorney, one recipient, Kayla Harvey, stated, "In one capacity or another, whether I'm directly traveling or working in the field to mediate social issues or educating others about inequalities in society, I will continue to try and make a difference."
